1. Overview of Peninsula Connect
Peninsula Connect is an online catalog and information tool. We help connect local independent professionals, commercial shops, and public services with residents and visitors in Cóbano, Santa Teresa, Montezuma, Malpaís, and neighboring towns.
We act purely as a directory. We do not hire, employ, or represent any listing. All communications, hiring, and transactions take place directly between users and the published service providers without our intervention or mediation.
2. Acceptable Use and Responsibilities
When listing or browsing on Peninsula Connect, you promise to:
- Provide accurate, honest, and updated business details and contact numbers.
- Avoid uploading images or text that violate intellectual property rights or copyright laws.
- Communicate respectfully and cordially with other community members.
- Not advertise illegal activities, prohibited services, or misleading offers.
- Take full responsibility for the safety of your login details.
- Not impersonate another person or business.
- Not create duplicate profiles for the same business or service.
- Not use false or misleading information in any part of your profile.
3. Advertiser Legal Compliance
The advertiser declares that they hold all licenses, permits, and legal authorizations required to offer their services under Costa Rican law. Peninsula Connect does not verify the legal or operational status of listed businesses and is not responsible for any violations of applicable regulations by advertisers.
4. Information Published by Users
All descriptions, photographs, and profile details remain the property of the advertiser. By uploading them, you grant us a basic license to host, display, and share them on the platform so your service can be visible.
You are responsible for what is published under your name. If your published content infringes upon the intellectual property rights of any third party, you agree to indemnify and hold Peninsula Connect harmless from any resulting claims, damages, or legal proceedings.
5. Protection of Platform Design and Rights
The visual identity, logos, code, search structure, database compilation, and software of Peninsula Connect are protected. You may not copy, extract, or use our design elements or code without our prior written permission.
6. Listing Deactivation and Content Removal
We may remove, edit, suspend, or refuse any listing at our sole discretion, with or without prior notice. This includes, but is not limited to, profiles that post fraudulent content, violate these terms, receive persistent complaints from the community, fail to respond to updates, or otherwise do not meet the standards of the platform.
7. Advertising Sponsorships and Payments
Basic profiles are free. To obtain Full Visibility or badges, we offer paid sponsor options. As a growing Costa Rican independent initiative, all sponsorship contributions are currently handled manually via SINPE Móvil or bank transfer. We continue to work on expanding available payment options to improve the experience.
Plan Renewal: Full Visibility plans are renewed by reporting your payment confirmation reference. Your profile will be updated once the administration verifies the contribution. Payment processes may vary as we continue to improve the platform.
Refund Policy: Contributions help cover direct operational costs (servers, maintenance, administration). Because of this, manual contributions for directory Full Visibility spaces are non-refundable once the service profile is published or highlighted.
8. Disclaimer of Guarantees and Liability
We make no guarantee regarding the volume of customers, phone calls, or income obtained through our directory. Additionally, we hold no responsibility for:
- The legal, fiscal, or insurance status of published businesses and professionals.
- The quality, punctuality, safety, or legality of work done by directory listings.
- Disputes, payments, or claims arising from agreements made directly between users and listings.
Peninsula Connect is not responsible for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from the use of the platform or from any relationship established between users and advertisers. Use of the platform is entirely at your own risk.
9. Platform Ownership Transfer
Peninsula Connect may transfer the ownership and operation of the platform to another individual or legal entity. In such event, existing agreements and this Terms of Service shall continue to apply, and users will be notified through the platform or by email when required by law.
10. Term Modifications
We may edit these terms from time to time to adapt to new directory features. Significant changes will be announced on our website. Using the directory means you accept any active terms.
